Please review the following expectations with your student.
ABSENCES
  • If a student will be absent for any reason, please send a quick email, so we know where they are.  Elton Knupp: elton.knupp@wpsk12.org.
  • Students are permitted one unexcused absence.  More than one unexcused absence will result in removal from the show.
  • Excused absences include illness, quarantine and family emergencies.
  • Doctor/Dentist appointments: This is the #1 biggest source of interruption for drama club.  When a student  misses rehearsal it affects the entire team.  While these are "excused" absences, we respectfully ask that you do your best to schedule these appointments at other times.
ACADEMIC EXPECTATIONS
  • Students in drama club must hold a passing grade in all of their classes.
  • Actors may be removed from the production by GMS administration if grades fall below passing.
BREAKS
  • Every day we will have a break around 3:00 for a snack.  Feel free to send your child with some nut free food for this time.
  • Please do not bring in fast food, Dunkin, etc. for your child during the break.
  • It is extremely important that all GMS drama students remain within the GMS building for the duration of the entire rehearsal. Trips to McDonalds, etc. will not be permitted.
DRAMA CLUB FEES
  • The fee for drama club for this year will be $35/cast, $20/crew. This is due by November 2nd. Checks should be made out to Wakefield Public Schools.
  • A production of this size requires a substantial amount of funds.  This money goes towards paying for our staff, designers, performance rights, costumes, sets, props, backdrops, and so on.
  • There is scholarship money available for those with financial need. Please contact me if the fee will be an issue for your family.
VOLUNTEERING
  • As we move throughout the rehearsal process we will be welcoming parent/guardian volunteers!  If you are interested in assisting with the production in any way please send Mrs. Knupp a quick email. Some areas we will be looking for help will be….
